Away to the Publisher
On Saturday, August 16, 2008, I mailed off a cover letter, a seven page synopsis, and the first three chapters and the prologue of my book to the editors at Tor Publishing. I requested a return reciept and I expect to get that back by the end of the week. It could take up to six months to hear back from the publisher, though I don't suppose it will take that long. when they finally get around to reading my proposal they will either send me a small form letter saying thanks but no thanks, or they will request to see the rest of my manuscript. That still doesn't gaurantee that they are going to publish, but I have a feeling that these overworked editors don't go around reading every manuscript in the world unless they are reasonably sure it will be good, and the senior editors will want to publish it. I will admit to being as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, but the Lord will do what He wants with it, so I would appreciate any of your prayers.

Do you have an assistant helping you with this book?
Thanks for the post, donna. Are you an interested fan or someone i know? To answer your question, I do have a friend who has helped me on the book. You might call him a research assistant.
